Our Riders

Our rider member base currently consists of Elite, Development and Club level cyclists. Most are supported by our unique cycling scholarship system which provides a huge incentive for our members to work hard to reach new heights whilst still being an inclusive contributing citizen. Achieving cycling outcomes are just part of our goals and culture. Being community inclusive, challenging cultural norms and just being a beautiful human is at the heart of our riders and the scholarship system that supports them.

Kato Paul - Mens Captain.JPG

Kato Paul 26 -

The former 2016 Ugandan National Road Champion is also our road captain as well as club mentor. Our short term goal for Kato is to expose him to as many events and opportunities as possible to both showcase his talent but also take these learnings and share with the younger members to position them well for future opportunities.

Wasswa Fred.JPG

Wasswa Fred 25 -

Is one of our most aggressive racers…….a sprinter. Fred is part of the elite program and is currently being nurtured to become one of the team domestiques. He will also get his chance to dive for the line in a sprint format when the opportunity arises.

Kemya Richard.JPG

Kemya Richard 17 -

Richard has quickly emerged as one of the elite young guns of the Masaka Cycling Club. At 17, and with very limited exposure to the e-racing platform, Richard is already competitive in the A Grade Category finishing in multiple Top10 finishes. Younger brother of Kato Paul, Wasswa Peter & Nakaggwa Florence. We are very encouraged by his progress and will be a big focus of our elite development program in coming years.

Nakaggwa Florence.JPG

Nakaggwa Florence 21 - Our women’s club captain.

Another who is attracting a lot of development time and energy to fast track. We see Florence as having potential to become our very first elite level female. Florence has natural nurturing attributes which make her the perfect person to bring in young females who want to chase their dreams through cycling.

Wasswa Peter 26 -

One of our elite level twins (Kato Paul). Our hardest working super domestique/climber. Totally unselfish and always working to support team members on the road. His stats match his brothers. Wasswa will feature heavily for us at all events well into the future.

Yahaya Kivubi.JPG

Yahaya Kivubi 27 -

An incredibly talented prospect. Very shy and quiet but continually gets the job done for his team mates. Playing the role of domestique but has the ability to win races. Still a bit of an unknown but given the opportunity we believe Yahaya has great prospects.

Biyinzika Davis.JPG

Biyinzika Davis 18 -

Like his best mate Richard, he is a high priority inside our elite development program. Will be fast tracked at any opportunity and is a very quick learner. Davis is a potential leader of the club in the future.

Kakeeto Ben.JPG

Kakeeto Ben 25 -

Relatively new to the scholarship program but is full of raw talent. Is in his development phase and we see him playing a key support role on the road in the near future.
